On November 15, 2017, the historical park 'Russia, My History' opened in Omsk.
The park became a branch of the budgetary cultural institution of the Omsk region 'Omsk Museum of Enlightenment' and is located on the Left Bank, in the building of the former Expo Center next to the 'Kontinent' Shopping Center.
The park's exhibition covers more than 7,500 square meters. It features a conference hall for 150 people for seminars and conferences, as well as an exhibition hall for temporary exhibitions, equipped with modern showcases and hanging systems. The park regularly hosts art exhibitions and creative meetings.
The permanent exhibition of the park encompasses events from Russian history and includes four exhibitions: 'Rurikids', 'Romanovs', 'From Great Upheavals to Great Victory', 'Russia, My History: 1945, 2016'. It also presents materials on the regional history of the Omsk Priirtyshye from ancient times to 2016, including the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Omsk. The development of regional content was carried out by historians and local historians from the Omsk State Historical and Local History Museum.
In the first days of operation, the park was visited by about 5,000 people, and by early March 2018, the number of visitors reached 70,000. Daily tours are conducted for organized groups, subscription programs are in place, and classes are held in the form of quests. The 'Omsk Humanitarian School' project has been launched to popularize the achievements of historical science and other humanitarian disciplines. Within the framework of the project, the 'Heritage' club operates, where students from grades 5 to 11 study the history of Russia and learn about the practices of historical science. A public lecture series 'HistFACT' has also begun. Regular master classes, games, entertainment programs, and poetry readings are organized for all visitors. The historical park has already become a popular family recreation spot for residents of Omsk and the region.
