Iskitim City Historical and Art Museum

The Iskitim City Historical and Art Museum opened its doors to visitors on November 4, 1977. It originally developed in two directions and is a comprehensive institution that includes historical and artistic departments. The museum houses 26 collections, totaling over 20,000 exhibits.

The museum's funds include paleontological and archaeological collections, photographs and written sources, Siberian iconography, paintings and graphic works, as well as sculptures by notable Novosibirsk artists of the Soviet period, such as N. Gritsyuk, G. Yakubovskaya, T. Vladova, I. Titkov, V. Titkov, V. Krechetov, S. Krechetova, V. Grankin, A. Kuzmin, N. Tolpekina, V. Bukharov, I. Popov, and others. There are also works by Siberian masters of decorative and applied arts.

Visitors to the museum can learn about the material culture of Siberian peasantry and the local population of the 20th century, as well as the flora and fauna of Siberia. The museum features a literary and artistic hall dedicated to V. M. Shukshin. Exhibition activities are one of the museum's priorities: more than fifty different exhibitions are held and accepted annually. On the first floor, there is an art salon where visitors can purchase paintings, graphic works, products from folk craftsmen, printed materials, and souvenirs.
