Pushkarka is a village in the Arzamas district, where the skete of the Diveyevo Monastery with the home church of John the Theologian, dating back to the early 20th century, is located.

Before the revolution, the skete of the Ponetaevsky Monastery was situated here. During the Soviet era, it was closed, and the buildings were initially used as residential spaces, later adapted for the needs of the local state farm.

In 1997, the territory of the former skete of the Ponetaevsky Monastery was transferred to the Serafimo-Diveyevo Monastery. Until 2010, the building served as a warehouse. In 2010, a decision was made to establish the skete of the Serafimo-Diveyevo Monastery, and from 2010 to 2013, the building and church of the skete were restored. On December 16, 2013, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas conducted the rite of the Great Consecration of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy" in the village of Pushkarka, Arzamas district, Nizhny Novgorod region. The church is located in the skete of the Holy Trinity Serafimo-Diveyevo Women's Monastery.
