The Inzhavin Local History Museum was established in the 1970s thanks to a grassroots initiative. Local historians from the Inzhavin district appealed to residents to gather local historical materials for the creation of a museum in the village of Inzhavino. The idea received support from the district leadership. The museum opened on October 20, 1984, and on that day, the first tours were conducted for local residents. In 1988, the museum was awarded the title of 'people's' by a decree of the RSFSR Government.

The museum has five halls: a nature hall of the native land, a historical and ethnographic hall, a hall of military glory dedicated to the Civil War, the Great Patriotic War, and local wars, a hall of the history of cultural, educational, and healthcare development, as well as an exhibition hall. Personal exhibitions are regularly held, where one can learn about the honorary citizens of the village.

Currently, the museum's storage holds folk instruments. The museum's collections are not being replenished as actively as before, as residents are reluctant to part with family relics. However, with funds from the district administration, folk costumes from the early 20th century were purchased from local elders.

A particular pride of the museum is the collection of authentic items from the 19th century that belonged to the noble Dokhturovs. These valuables were donated to the museum by Vera Ivanovna Dokhturova, the wife of one of the descendants of the famous commander Dmitry Sergeyevich Dokhturov.

In addition, the museum features a collection of artworks by contemporary artists. This became possible thanks to an event five years ago when an artists' gathering was held in the district to commemorate the anniversary of Mstislav Dobuzhinsky. Over 10 days, artists from 18 regions captured the picturesque views of Krivoluchye, Karandeeyevka, and Barskaya Mountain on canvas.
