On the estate's territory, there is an interesting tourist attraction, a medieval forge, which consists of a covered shed with a stone furnace and an anvil. Here, interactive tours are conducted in the format of master classes, where everyone can not only learn about the history of blacksmithing in Belozersk but also try their hand as an apprentice under a real blacksmith. The blacksmithing craft has always been one of the most respected in Russia. The master classes are led by Nikolai Valentinovich Mitin, an honorary citizen of the city of Kirillov, an artist of forging and an amazing master. He is, as befits a respected village man, philosophical and friendly. Many of us have never been in a real forge, and here everything is infused with the smell of coal and iron, the fire blazes in the furnace, and there are about twenty hammers.
In addition, you will learn what "krytsa" is, what the expressions "bring to white heat" and "strike while the iron is hot" mean. At the end of the tour, you can take a photo in a leather apron with a hammer against the backdrop of a blazing furnace made of wild stone.
