Nikolai Vasilievich Igumnov (1855, 1924), a Russian merchant and philanthropist, was a co-owner of the trading and industrial partnership "Yaroslavl Large Manufactory" and owned gold mines in Siberia. He also owned a mansion in Moscow, now known as the Igumnov House, which was built in 1888 and 1895 according to the design of architect N. I. Pozdeev. In 1901, after being exiled by Nicholas II to Abkhazia, Igumnov began developing the village of Alakhadzi. In 2013, the film "Abkhazian Tale" directed by Pavel Bortnikov was released, based on his life.
