Nativity Church (village Potma, Penza region)

Фото 1
The single-altar church, dedicated to the Nativity of Christ, was built in 1845. In the 1930s, it was closed. To this day, the partially ruined lower tier of the freestanding bell tower and the cross-shaped structure of the church itself have survived. The northern and southern projections of the building are adorned with pilaster porticos with triangular pediments, which are practically the only decorative element executed in the spirit of late classicism.

It is not easy to recognize the church, as one of its sides resembles the remnants of a Soviet House of Culture more than a church.
