The main architectural gem of Golyanovo is the ancient Zosima and Savvatiy Church, built in 1842. Interestingly, in earlier times, these lands belonged to Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov and later passed to the Trubetskoys, who actively worked on improving the village. Ivan Nikolaevich Trubetskoy funded the construction of this magnificent church, which was later remodeled by architect Baranov in the classical style. The local residents were very grateful to the Trubetskoys for the opportunity to attend services in their native settlement.

During the Soviet period, the Zosima and Savvatiy Church, like many others, suffered desecration. For many years, a pasta factory operated in its mutilated building, and only during the perestroika years did the opportunity arise to begin restoring the church and resume services. Today, the church once again impresses with its beauty, and it is hard to believe that just 30 years ago it was in such a deplorable state. In addition to services, a large center has been built in the churchyard, where a Sunday school operates, exhibitions are held, and various Christian events take place.

Particular attention is drawn to a small monument to Tsarevich Dmitry, located behind the church. It is well known that the murdered tsarevich is venerated by the Orthodox Church. Unfortunately, the exact circumstances of his death remain unknown to this day. A historian can only speak of proven facts, so I will not accuse or justify Boris Godunov. The main thing is that the memory of Dmitry is alive, and visitors to the church can see this beautiful monument at any convenient time until 8:00 PM.
