Temple of the Life-Giving Trinity in Georgievsk

Фото 1
The Church in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity was built in 1790 through the efforts of Major General Dmitry Vasilyevich Arsentyev. This stone building, which initially had no bell tower, had bells hung on poles. The bell tower was constructed in 1908. In 1911, a fire destroyed the metric books for 12 years. There was no fence around the church, but there was a cemetery that was later abolished. The parish included the villages: Kuznetsovo (Georgievskoye), Tinino, Krutitsy, and Bolshie Kozly.

In 1943, lightning struck the cross, causing a fire that engulfed the dome of the church. After that, the building was repaired and used as a grain storage facility. The church has survived to this day, but after the grain storage facility was closed, it fell into disrepair. In April 1997, members of the "Good Will" club carried out conservation work. In the spring of 2014, restoration of the church began.
