The first church in the village of Zhurnichi, dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, was built around 1917. However, shortly after that, with the arrival of the communist regime, the church building was converted into a club.

In the winter of 1942, the village and the church were destroyed by the fire of the fascist occupiers. On the site of the burned church, a mass grave was created, where the executed residents of Zhurnichi were buried. After the war ended, in 1945, a club was built on the site of the execution.

On May 28, 1998, the administration of the Zhurnichi village council transferred the former club building to the believers.

On July 14, 1998, with the blessing of Archbishop Melchizedek of Bryansk and Sevsk, the parish was restored and the altar of the church was consecrated in honor of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos.
