The Church of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple in the village of Sukharevo became the first church built in modern times during the Soviet Union. Its construction began in 1986, and the consecration took place in 1988 in honor of the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a wooden church was built in Sukharevo, which burned down in the early 1980s.

On the site of the burned church, a stone church was erected in the mid-1980s based on the design of architect Andrei Rodygin. The construction lasted two years, and the church was consecrated in 1988, becoming the first newly built church in the history of New Russia.

The eastern facade of the Vvedensky church in Sukharevo is adorned with three apses, corresponding to the number of altars in the church. The copper roof with patina harmoniously complements the wall coating "under a glove." The cross on the central dome is made in the style of Pskov crosses, featuring the ancient tradition of the Theotokos symbol in the form of a crescent moon.
