The Holy Presentation Church is a cultural heritage site. The first mention of the brick church in the village of Orekhovo (Pimenovo) dates back to 1773. After its destruction in 1865, a wooden church was built on this site thanks to the efforts of landowner Vanin Khrisanf Sergeyevich, who is buried in front of the church entrance. To this day, an iron tombstone with the inscription: "Step on my ashes, pray for my soul," reflecting the deep faith of that time, has been preserved.

In the late 1930s, during a period of active atheism, authorities began to close and destroy churches en masse. The wooden Presentation Church in the village of Orekhovo (Pimenovo), which had already ceased to be used for its intended purpose by the mid-30s, was also slated for demolition. At that time, the church was being used as a storage for collective farm grain and even as a pen for sheep.

The church was saved from destruction thanks to the efforts of the chairman of the Pimenovo collective farm "New Life," Balikin Afanasy Pavlovich. In late May 1939, he and the chairman of the village council, Starikov Yakov Timofeyevich, were summoned to the Streltsy district executive committee, where they were ordered to begin dismantling the church. Afanasy Pavlovich requested to keep the church for the collective farm, explaining the need for additional space to store the expected wheat harvest. He was offered to buy the church, and he, gathering money with the help of his wife Maria Borisovna, his godfather Starikov Vladimir Egorovich, his brother Alexei, and other villagers, managed to raise the required amount. In the morning, he took the money to Kursk and purchased the church, thus preserving it during difficult times. However, despite saving the building, the question of saving the souls of the parishioners remained.

The grave of the nobleman Khrisanf Vanin at the entrance to the church was also desecrated. Local residents, hoping to find gold, moved the iron slab with the request to pray for the soul of the deceased, dug up the grave, but found nothing valuable.

The Holy Presentation Church, built in 1865, was recognized as a historical and cultural monument by the decree of the governor of the Kursk region on October 30, 1998. In accordance with part 3 of article 64 of the Federal Law of June 25, 2002 No. 73-FZ "On Cultural Heritage (Historical and Cultural Monuments) of the Peoples of the Russian Federation," it has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional significance.
