The warm brick church of the parish, built in 1841 in the style of classicism, was a squat structure, elongated along the longitudinal axis, with side porticos and a domed vault. The closure occurred no later than the 1930s, and now the building is vacant, with the vaults having collapsed.

According to tradition, the first church in Okvade appeared in 1385 under Bishop Stephen of Perm.

The church dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary in the Okvatskaya volost of the Yaren district is mentioned in the 1755 inventory book of monasteries and churches of the Velikoustyug diocese. In 1797, there were two churches in the parish: the Presentation of the Virgin Mary and opposite it, to the east on the north side, a church in the name of Saints Athanasius and Cyril of Alexandria. From 1822 to 1837, the Ilyinskaya church was built, and in 1841, the Vvedenskaya. The altars: in the warm church, in the name of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, consecrated in 1846; in the cold church, the main altar, in the name of the Holy Prophet Elijah, consecrated in 1832; in the southern chapel, in the name of Saints Athanasius and Cyril of Alexandria, consecrated in 1867; in the northern chapel, in the name of the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki, consecrated on November 22, 1867.

Attached churches: 1) in the village of Semukovskaya, built from 1869 to 1875, consecrated in 1875 in the name of Saint Nicholas of Myra, a wooden single-story structure, later became a parish church; 2) Nikolayevskaya in the village of Kozhmodorskaya, built in 1896, consecrated on May 23, 1896.

In 1788, there were 1,494 people registered at the church, and in 1868, 1,943.
