Behind the monastery fence, on the southern side, a new cemetery was established in 1858 for the burial of the younger brethren and pilgrims. At the request of benefactors, it was decided to build a church on the cemetery in honor of All Saints. Construction began in 1861, and on September 9, 1864, the church was consecrated by Bishop Gregory of Kaluga. The church was made of stone, with vaults and a single dome. The iconostasis was single-tiered.

During the Soviet era, the church was closed and dismantled. In 2000, work was carried out in the revived Optina Pustyn monastery that helped define the boundaries of the new cemetery and clear the foundations of the Church of All Saints. The location of the church was established from a photograph from the late 19th to early 20th century. An old oak tree served as a landmark in the area. The church was located south of this tree, where branches had been trimmed on the church side.

In 2003, restoration work began on the church at its historical site, on the preserved foundation.
