The Ascension of the Lord Church in the village of Streletskoye was built in 2006 on the site where the destroyed 19th-century churches once stood.
In the early 20th century, there were two churches functioning in the village of Bolkhovets. The Protection Church, built in 1827, had a congregation of 2,318 people and a church school. In 1853, another stone church with three altars was built, the main one consecrated in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The parish included two settlements, Kazatskaya and Streletskaya, with a total of 4,057 parishioners. The Nicholas Church owned 78 acres of estate and arable land.
During the Soviet era, both churches were destroyed. In 2006, the new Ascension of the Lord Church was opened, consecrated by Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol on December 17, 2006.
