Located in Zaretskaya Sloboda, on the site of the ancient Pesotsky Precursor Monastery (now Zaretskaya Street), the church was built in 1701 by Abbess Kapitolina, who was transferred from the Resurrection Monastery, and consecrated in 1706. In 1796, it was annexed to the Peter and Paul Monastery. In 1826, a single-cleric parish was established at the church, but in 1843, due to lack of funds, the church was annexed to the Resurrection Church, and in 1876, to the Mountain-Nikolsky Church. In 1883, a warm chapel was added to the church.

Next to the church stood an ancient tent-shaped bell tower. Inside the church were tin vessels and a service book from the 17th century, as well as icons from the 18th century. In February 1930, the church was closed and later destroyed. Only the remnants of its foundation have survived to this day.
