The first wooden church was built in the 17th century. In 1774, a second wooden church was erected on its site, both dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord. In 1805, the construction of a stone church began, which was completed and consecrated in 1811 (the left chapel). Two other chapels were consecrated in 1820 and 1826. The church was closed on January 11, 1936, and reopened in 1991.

According to legend, the future church site witnessed an apparition of the Mother of God, which became a sign for its construction. Despite the marshy terrain, the church was built. Initially located on the outskirts, it is now situated in the center of the village next to local self-government bodies. Originally, the church had one altar in honor of the Ascension of the Lord, later two chapels were added and altars were consecrated in honor of St. Basil the Great and the Prophet Elijah. A particularly revered relic was the icon of the Protection of the Mother of God, painted after the assassination attempt on Emperor Alexander II. A church parish school operated at the church. The last clergy included three priests and one deacon.

In 1936, the church was closed, and its clergy faced repression. The rector Pavel Dukhin and priest Mikhail Kryuchkov were shot in 1937. Before the church was handed over to the Church in 1992, it housed a cultural center. After public discussion in 1991, the building was transferred to the Perm diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. On December 8, 1992, archpriest Boris Bartov performed a minor consecration of the church. The first rector after its revival was priest Vladimir Nechaev, who was replaced at the end of 1993 by Georgy Shchukin, who led the parish until 2015. In the winter of 2015, priest Ioann Romanchuk was appointed rector, under whom restoration work continued: the walls were renewed and the chapel of the Prophet Elijah was painted. A year later, in the winter of 2016, priest Maxim Kulakov became the rector, who is also the dean of the second Kungur deanery and the rector of the All Saints Church in Kungur. Sunday schools for children and adults operate at the church. In 2012, the restoration of the wall icon painting was completed.

The main shrine of the church is the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Three-Handed", which until 1937 was located in the Archangel-Michael Church of the village of Sazhino. Prayers before this icon helped peasants heal from hand diseases, which was relevant due to heavy physical labor. An annual procession with the icon from Beryozovka to Sazhino and back is held on July 27 and 28. The icon will be returned to the Archangel-Michael Church of the village of Sazhino after its major restoration is completed.
