In the early 2000s, the Ascension Church was located in the dormitory of the Typhoon factory, where services were regularly held. At the same time, construction of a new two-level church with a bell tower was underway in the microdistrict, which was consecrated in 2013.

On June 13, 2013, on the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the first Archpastoral Divine Liturgy took place. And on September 27, 2015, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the first service was held in the main chapel of the church after renovations.

Father Evgeny Chuprov, the rector of the Ascension Church, addressed the parishioners and residents of the city. In 2002, rooms were allocated in the factory dormitory building, where, with the help of Typhoon factory workers and the efforts of parishioners from the former red corner, a temporary church was created.

The parish has existed for 5 years. Initially, only a few people came here, but now the number of parishioners has significantly increased. Nearby the future church are a hospital and a boarding house for the disabled and elderly.

The Ascension Church is located at the intersection of several large microdistricts, where there are no other Orthodox churches. It is intended to promote the revival of spirituality in the remote urban outskirts.

The building will be two-level: the lower floor will house a sacristy, a baptismal area, and a hall for parish meetings, while the church itself will be on the second floor. A beautiful park area will surround the church, and inside the churchyard, benches for rest and flower beds are planned.
