The church was built in 1831 and is located on the outskirts of the village, along the high bank of the Voronusa River. The brick structure was plastered. The small church, in the Empire style, is characterized by pronounced monumentality and is a dome-shaped building of cruciform design.

The facades of the church are designed in a restrained Empire style. The horizontal rustication of the walls contrasts with the smooth surfaces of the rotunda and bell tower. The volumes are topped with simplified entablatures, and the upper tiers of the bell tower have simple cornices. The side porticoes of the Tuscan order feature two pairs of widely spaced columns on common pedestals and pediments with large modillons. Rectangular windows with a ledge are highlighted by window sills.

In the altar, wall paintings from the early 20th century, done in oil paint, have been preserved: on the eastern wall, figures of Christ, the Virgin Mary, John the Baptist, and the Apostle Thomas are depicted; on the side walls, Saints Seraphim of Sarov and Theodosius of Uglich. The iconostasis with simple carvings, dating from the same period, retains four icons painted in oil on boards.

During the Soviet era, the church was closed three times: from 1917 to 1938, then from 1939 to 1942, it was reopened in 1942 by order of the occupiers, but closed again in 1943.

After the war, the building was used as a grain storage facility. In 1979, the church was included in the list of architectural monuments, but restoration did not begin. In 1989, the church was returned to the faithful, and services resumed in the early 1990s.

The church is now active, and the building has been fully restored.
