Novye Cheshuyki is a village in the Mglin district of the Bryansk region, located 7 km north of Mglin. It is the center of the Novocheshuykovsky rural settlement, which includes the villages of Bykovka, Kiselevka, Krasnogorki, Parfenovka, Starye Cheshuyki, Kharnovka, Chernovitsa, and Chernoruchye, as well as the settlements of Pugachovka and Shablovka, the hamlet of Kabanovka, and Shimonovsky. The village was founded in the 18th century and was previously called Vepryets or Sloboda Cheshuyki, named after the stream. It belonged to the Yesimontovs. Until 1781, Novye Cheshuyki was part of the Mglin hundred of the Starodub regiment, from 1782 to 1922, it was in the Mglin district, and from 1861, it was part of the Mglin volost. From 1922 to 1929, the village was in the Mglin volost of the Klintsy district. Since the 1860s, there was a parish village with the Resurrection Church, the last building of which was constructed in 1906. The church was wooden and was closed in 1936; it has not survived to this day. In the late 19th century, a zemstvo school was opened in the village.
