The Resurrection Church in the monastery of the Monk Kuksha of Pechersk was founded in 2006. On April 19, 2015, Metropolitan Antoniy of Oryol and Bolkhov conducted the rite of great consecration of this church and served the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated building. From 2006 to 2015, the brotherhood and benefactors actively worked on the improvement of the church and the surrounding area.

The male monastery of the Monk Kuksha of Pechersk is located at the site of the martyrdom of Saint Kuksha of Pechersk, who enlightened the Vyatichs in 1113 and became the heavenly patron of the Oryol-Liven Diocese.

Historians believe that the memory of Kuksha was preserved immediately after his martyr's death. According to 19th-century peasants, the well where the enlightener was killed was considered a 'holy place,' and pilgrimage to it had been conducted 'since time immemorial.' According to tradition, on the swamp where Saint Kuksha perished, his devotees built a chapel with a cross over the 'Pilgrim' or 'Martyr' well. Here, local residents would gather annually on the second day of the Trinity holiday for a water blessing service before the icons from the parish church of the village of Telchye. A cross with a donation cup was installed on the road opposite the well. However, over time, the veneration began to wane, and by the end of the 19th century, these structures fell into disrepair.
