The chapels of the church are dedicated to the venerable Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves, the martyr Agnes (on the left), and in memory of the third finding of the head of John the Baptist (on the right).

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was built in 1805, although other sources state it was in 1809, and was consecrated in 1812. Within its walls was buried the owner of the village, the first governor of Penza, Ivan Alexeyevich Stupishin, who held this position from 1788 to 1796. The church was destroyed, leaving only individual brick blocks and the crypt where Stupishin rests.
