In 2010, a small church was built in the Kaluga microdistrict of Annenki, becoming part of a planned church complex. Metropolitan Clement of Kaluga and Borovsk consecrated it in honor of the holy warrior martyrs George the Victorious and Demetrius of Thessalonica. The consecration of an altar in honor of these two saints is extremely rare, making the church unique and possibly the only one in Russia.

The church building, made of brick, lacks a bell tower and an apse. It is adorned with a gable roof and a decorative attic with a niche for an icon above the central entrance, and is topped with a dome on a pedestal that harmonizes with the architecture of the church.

There are plans to construct a church complex in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," which will include two churches and a Sunday school.

Due to the proximity of the regional medical center, the ministry of the rector and clergy of the church addresses not only the spiritual needs of the residents of Annenki but also those of the staff and patients of the Kaluga Regional Clinical Hospital, the children's hospital, the oncology dispensary, and the MNTK "Eye Microsurgery."

The church houses particularly venerated icons: the icon of the saints in honor of whom it was built, with relics of the martyrs George the Victorious and Demetrius of Thessalonica, the icon "Assembly of the Unmercenaries and Miracle Workers" with a relic of the holy confessor Luke, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea, as well as the icon of Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia. These relics are always accessible to the parishioners.
