The church dedicated to St. Paraskeva Friday is known as the Paraskeva or Friday Church. It was located on Bazaar Square, at the end of Friday Lane, which is now called Izbyshev Street. The main altar was dedicated to St. Paraskeva Friday and was located on the lower floor, while the upper floor housed the altars of Righteous Procopius and Blessed John of Ustyug. The church was built between 1791 and 1825. Currently, a commemorative stele is installed nearby in honor of the 400th anniversary of the city of Tara.

After the abolition of the women's Tara Friday Monastery around 1764, the wooden monastery church dedicated to St. Paraskeva and St. Catherine was transformed into a parish church. It likely fell into disrepair by the end of the 18th century and was dismantled.

The stone two-story church dedicated to St. Paraskeva Friday and Righteous Procopius and John of Ustyug was constructed from 1791 to 1825 thanks to the efforts of merchant Ivan Nerpin, and after his death, his son-in-law, Count Ivlichev. In 1856, a watchman's lodge was added to the right side of the church. The parish included the village of Krasnopereva, located 12 versts from Tara. Next to the church was an attached stone chapel dedicated to Righteous Procopius of Ustyug, mentioned in 1914. The clergy consisted of a priest and a psalmist.

According to the metrics compiled by the church's rector, Father Ivan Chukmasov, the height of the church was 51 arshins, length 40 arshins, and width 13 arshins. Like other churches, it had a three-part structure: altar, refectory, and bell tower. The church featured a distinctly tiered composition: above the two-story main part rose a large dome with a transition, almost concealed by enormous pediment gables, while a tall octagonal drum with windows supported the dome.
