The small desert, founded in the 1910s by the locally revered saint St. Theodosius of the Caucasus, had a chapel and existed until 1927. In the 1990s, the healing spring was restored, and a chapel and other buildings were constructed.
On April 16, 1999, the construction of a brick church with a bell tower located above the western facade began. However, the construction is still not completed, and the domes over the church are currently absent. The desert does not have the status of a monastery.
