Saint Righteous John of Kronstadt is not only one of the most venerated Orthodox saints but is also connected to the history of Rostov-on-Don. In pre-revolutionary times, the renowned priest actively supported Rostov philanthropists and visited the city, where he participated in the consecration of the first house of labor in Russia. His spiritual and physical feats are not forgotten, and in 1992, a parish was established in his honor in Rostov-on-Don, which later acquired a stone temple.

The modern temple dedicated to Saint John of Kronstadt was built in 2010 based on the design by architect Heinrich Ivanov. It is the only student temple in the Rostov and Novocherkassk diocese, which attracted the attention of Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and all Rus, who visited the city.

Today, the temple of Saint John of Kronstadt is considered one of the most beautiful modern temples in the Rostov region. It was laid by Alexy II himself and is respected among Orthodox believers. A Sunday school for children operates at the temple, and various spiritual events are held aimed at educating Orthodox youth and parishioners.
