In the Register of "Residential Data of Churches" of the Sevsk district, covering the period from 1628 to 1746, the church in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Radogoshch is mentioned. In 1677, the parish had 122 households, and three priests served in the church. However, the Northern War (1700, 1721) led to the desolation of the parish and the dilapidation of the church. In 1730, a new wooden church with an altar in honor of the Archangel Michael was built and consecrated in the village. In 1787, thanks to the efforts of Princess Natalia Petrovna Golitsyna, a stone church in the early classical style was built to replace the wooden one. Brick, granite, white stone, and stucco were used in its construction. The new church, like the previous one, was consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but now with two altars: in honor of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir and Saint Archangel Michael.

The wooden structure of the church was moved to the village of Bykhovo, located twelve versts from Radogoshch. The stone church underwent almost no changes, except for the replacement of stone floors with wooden ones in 1881. In 1937, the church was closed: one part was turned into a grain storage, and another into a club. Services resumed in 1943, and since then the church has remained open.
