The Assumption Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Pushkarnoye, built in the second half of the 19th century, has never been closed and is a monument of architecture.

The stone church was erected in 1868 and is a pillarless square structure with decorative five domes. It includes side chapels, a western narthex, and a low tented bell tower. The decor is done in the Russian-Byzantine style.

In 1908, the parish had 1,114 people, a zemstvo school was operating, and there were 3 dessiatinas of estate land and 159 dessiatinas of arable land. The church remained open.

In the early 2000s, repair and restoration work was carried out in the church. The restored Assumption Church was consecrated by Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol on March 8, 2008.
