Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lyushnevo

Фото 1
The stone church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built between 1861 and 1867 on a hill known as "Popova Gorka" in the estate of Volovichey. In the 1960s, the church was closed and initially used as a warehouse, then as a village shop. Restoration began in 2000 thanks to the initiative of the local community of believers and residents of the village, with the support of many businesses. The first liturgy in the renovated church took place in 2006, gathering many people and attended by Bishop Stefan of Pinsk and Luninets.

The architectural appearance of the church includes a tall square base with a metal dome-shaped roof and a cupola on a light drum. On the eastern side, an altar apse adjoins the main building, while on the western side, there is a spacious refectory and a two-tiered bell tower with a dome-shaped top.
