The city of Emva serves as the administrative center of the Knyazhpogostsky district. The community was registered in 1993. The wooden church was built in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

This large wooden structure features two domes. The main volume of the building is a square base topped with an octagonal section and a dome, with transitions between the tiers adorned with rows of kokoshniks. On the eastern side, a five-sided altar adjoins the church, while on the western side, there is a refectory topped by a tent-like bell tower located above the narthex. Inside the church, there are several icons, including the icon of the Dormition of the Mother of God.
