The three-altar Assumption Church in the village of Senino was built in 1910. The central altar is dedicated to the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, the northern to the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God, and the southern to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

In the 19th century, the village of Istik, previously known as Senino, belonged to Tatiana Kosheleva and Prince Ivan Meshchersky. In 1688, a wooden church with a refectory and bell tower was built here, which was repeatedly rebuilt and lasted for more than two centuries.

In its place, a stone church with three altars was erected in 1910, consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. The other two altars are dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God. The parishioners insisted on the construction and provided the main funds. Four schools operated in the parish: one church-parish and three zemstvo schools. The nearest churches were located 10 km away, so the Assumption Church always attracted many parishioners. The church had a library with more than 80 volumes, but there was no fence around it.

In 1931, the church was closed, the bell tower was destroyed, and the building was used as a school, warehouse, and workshops. In 2000, the dome collapsed. Despite its dilapidated state, the church, built in the style of the Shamorinsk churches and considered a gem of provincial church architecture, retained its grandeur. Restoration began in the mid-2000s.

By 2005, when the first sisters arrived, the church was in a state of neglect. Since the very beginning of the community's existence, services, memorials, and processions have been held in the Assumption Church. In 2009, an altar in honor of St. Nicholas was consecrated, where services are held regularly. To date, the altar part of the church has been restored, the dome has been repaired, brickwork has been restored, windows and doors have been installed, and the church has been cleared of debris. During the Soviet era, a chemical fertilizer warehouse was located here, so restoration work cannot be carried out in the central part of the church due to a high concentration of ammonium nitrate, exceeding the norm by 37 times. Currently, decontamination of toxic substances is underway.
