In 1822, the Trinity Church was built and consecrated, funded by parishioners who collected 7,126 silver rubles. The county nobility contributed 12,000 rubles in banknotes to the church fund, while merchants Kovalishenko and Zinoviev donated 10,000 rubles in silver each. The church was made of brick, and its walls and domes were constructed by a local stonemason cooperative. The decoration was handled by the Biryuchek icon painter Alexei Glushkin.

The frescoes of the Trinity Church reflected the entire history of the Russian Orthodox Church. The temple housed a highly revered miraculous icon of the "Sign," brought by ataman Shamray. Above the royal gates was a painting of the "Last Supper."

The Trinity temple was a unique structure with a tall bell tower and beautiful domes. The ringing of the bells echoed throughout the area. Inside the church was a spacious hall with side sections, painted by the best artists. The royal gates were adorned with carved wooden flowers, painted to look like gold, which did not tarnish. On major holidays, the melodic ringing of the bells announced to the parishioners the resurrection of Saint Christ.

Unfortunately, in the early 1930s, the temple was destroyed. From 1936 to 1939, a building for the Zasosna School was constructed on its site, where a German hospital operated from August 1942 to January 1943. Later, the building became an educational institution again.

In November 2009, a new Holy Trinity Church was consecrated on this site, but its small size did not allow for all the worshippers. At the request of the parishioners, Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol blessed the expansion of the church. On September 29, 2013, Metropolitan John performed the consecration of the renovated church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the village of Zasosna in the Krasnogvardeisky district.
