The Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, built in 1779, is located away from the village, among an overgrown cemetery that adjoins the remnants of a manor park. It is one of the finest baroque structures in the Oryol region.

The village of Shchuchye, named after the river of the same name, is first mentioned in the land survey book of 1594-1595, compiled by clerk Leontiy Sofonov and scribe Dementiy Yakovlev. At that time, the village had 9 households belonging to servicemen from the garrison of the Oryol fortress. Later, the village of Anokhino with the Church of Saint Great Martyr Dmitry of Thessalonica is mentioned in church records of the Oryol district from 1734 and 1755. By 1755, there were already 31 parish households at the church.

The current brick Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity was built in 1779 by landowner Nikolai Iosifovich Telegin. The church had three altars: the main one in the name of the Holy Trinity, the northern one, renovated on September 27, 1890, in the name of the holy martyrs Flora and Laurus, and the southern one, in the name of the holy martyr Paraskeva. The bells were placed next to the church on two wooden posts, and there was no fence due to extreme poverty. The parish also lacked schools due to the poverty of the parishioners and the remoteness of the parish. In the early 20th century, a dilapidated wooden house of landowner Bek, built in 1817, still stood on the southern side of the church.

The church was closed in 1938.
