The stone church in the village of Bolshybykovo, built in 1805 and consecrated in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity, had two chapels: in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky. The village also had a wooden church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, which has not survived.

In 1932, the church was closed and converted into a grain storage facility, and in 1937 its bell tower was destroyed. In 1943, the church reopened and operated until 1958. In 1988, repairs began with the aim of creating a local history museum, but under pressure from local residents, the church was returned to the faithful.

On September 12, 1990, the church was consecrated again. In 2004, the reconstruction of the bell tower began based on old photographs.
