In the village of Novotroevo, founded in the second half of the 17th century, there has never been its own church. Residents usually visited the church in the neighboring village of Ploskoye.
In the early 21st century, with the blessing of Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, an Archpriest's courtyard of the Holy Trinity Church was established in Novotroevo. Initially, the church was located in a wooden house that was adapted for services.
In 2010, a two-story monastic building with a domestic Trinity church was built here. Initially, the courtyard served as a rehabilitation center, but since 2015 it has been handed over to a women's monastic community.
Among the relics of the church are a particle of the Life-Giving Cross, gifted by Patriarch Theophilus, a piece of sandstone from Mount Golgotha embedded in the Cross, a particle of the relics of the Holy Martyr Nicodemus of Belgorod, as well as an icon with a part of the cassock of Saint John of Kronstadt.
