Church of Saints Flora and Laurus in Kursk (lost)

Фото 1
The Florov Church was built in 1779 on the site of the destroyed old stone church. It was also known as the Sreteno-Florov Church and "St. Flora and Laurus." This church, one of the most beautiful in Kursk, featured the tallest five-tiered bell tower in the city and was located at the corner of Radishcheva (Florovskaya) and Marata (Gostinnaya) streets. The architecture of the building combined elements of Baroque and Classicism, creating a majestic appearance. On September 15, 1935, the church was blown up. In 2012, a memorial plaque was installed at the site where it once stood.
