Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Pogromets

Фото 1
The Church of Peter and Paul in the village of Pogromets was built in the 19th century and has not undergone any reconstructions, continuing to function even during the Great Patriotic War.

The exact time of its construction is unknown, but it occurred no earlier than 1840. It was in this year that Baron Korff passed away, who, according to archival data, was buried on the grounds of the stone Peter and Paul Church.

In the 1930s, the church was closed, looted, and used as a grain storage facility. From 1938 to 1941, a mechanization school operated within its walls. Worship services resumed in July 1942.

In 1963, services were temporarily halted due to the discovery of an unexploded shell in the building. After repairs, worship services were restored.
