The memorial complex "Poklonnaya Height 269" is located near the village of Molotychi in the Fatezhsky District of the Kursk Region. Here, in July 1943, during the battles on the Northern Front of the Kursk Bulge, the command post of the 70th Army of the NKVD was situated, which held the heights against the advance of the 9th German Army. The complex was created at the initiative of the RОО "Kursk Society" in Moscow to immortalize the feat of Soviet soldiers who, at the cost of their lives, prevented the breakthrough of the German-Fascist troops to Kursk in July 1943.

On February 12, 2016, the construction of the church in honor of the apostles Peter and Paul began. The counteroffensive of the Soviet troops on the Northern Front started on July 12, 1943, on the feast day of these apostles. The official start of construction was given by Alexander Mikhailov, Vladimir Pronin, and Bishop Benjamin of Zheleznogorsk and Lgov, who laid a capsule with a message to future generations in the foundation.

On August 16, 2016, Bishop Benjamin consecrated the bells and the main dome of the church. A special feature of the ceremony was that the Bishop ascended on special equipment to sprinkle the bells with holy water, while the dome was consecrated on the ground.

On July 11, 2017, the church was consecrated by Bishop Benjamin, and the first liturgy took place on July 12, 2017.

The church and other facilities of the memorial complex were built exclusively on donations from individuals and organizations from Moscow and the Kursk region, for future generations.
