The construction of the church in honor of the chief apostles Peter and Paul in the Zalivenka microdistrict of Livny began in 2009.

The brick cemetery church, which is currently being built, belongs to the cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

The church has a cross-shaped form with a dome over the crossing. In the basement, a chapel in the name of All Saints is planned to be consecrated. As has been traditionally done in Russia, the church is being built by the community. Entrepreneurs, local authorities, and residents of the city participated in the construction.

On July 12, 2014, on the day of the celebration of the glorious chief apostles Peter and Paul, His Eminence Archbishop Anthony of Oryol and Livny conducted the rite of the great consecration of the church. However, the construction did not end there; work on the bell tower is still ahead.
