The church of St. Paraskeva Friday in the village of Peschanoe was built in 1890, with construction starting in 1880. Significant financial resources were used for its construction, mainly from voluntary donations by peasants and the nobleman Platon Davydov, who lived in the village. County land allocations were also invested in the project. The construction lasted over ten years, using local bricks made by the villagers from clay, which is still abundantly found on the outskirts. The central chapel of the church is dedicated to Paraskeva Friday.

In 1929, the church was closed, and the bells were thrown from the high bell tower, with two of them breaking on the frozen ground. The church building was converted into a collective farm warehouse. During the occupation, at the request of local residents, the church was reopened. After that, it functioned for another 20 years and was closed on February 23, 1961.

In October 1989, the church reopened, and the first service took place on November 3.
