The rural settlement of Sludka in the Syktyvdin district is located on the left bank of the Pozheg River. In the Komi language, "Sluda" means steep sandy bank. In 2007, the settlement celebrated its 300th anniversary.

The first church in Sludka was built in 1857 and stood for almost 40 years, but due to lack of repairs and the dire situation of the local residents, it fell into disrepair and was dismantled. In its place, a wooden church was initially constructed, which was cold and unheated, and later a stone church was built. In 1896, the stone church was consecrated. It had two altars: in honor of the Holy Trinity and the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The new stone Holy Trinity Church had stove heating with four stoves.

Many orphans were cared for at the Holy Trinity Church. They received special attention here. The local psalmist Shumkov taught them literacy, conducting classes both in the church and at home.

In 1929, the church was closed.
