The parish was founded no later than the mid-18th century. The church in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity in the Pod'yelinskaya volost of the Yaren district is mentioned in the 1755 inventory book of monasteries and churches of the Veliky Ustyug diocese. The parish guardianship was established in 1873, with the parish priest Ioann Pokrovsky as its chairman. In 1903, the village of Grishinskaya became an independent parish, and at the same time, the position of deacon at the Pod'yelsk church was abolished. In 1788, there were 912 people registered at the church, and the same number was recorded in 1868 and 1871.

In 1826, a stone one-story church was built on the site of the wooden Trinity church, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, connected to the bell tower. The altar in the cold part of the church, consecrated in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity, was consecrated on June 4, 1831, while the warm chapel, in the name of Archangel Michael and the Other Heavenly Powers, was consecrated on January 31, 1826.

The parish had six chapels. Five of them were located in the villages of Ezholskaya, Makarkerosskaya, Keroskaya (now the village of Keres), Laboromskaya, and Novitskaya. The chapels were barn-shaped with a cross on the roof. The sixth chapel, in the name of the Not-Made-By-Hands Image of the Savior, was built in the village of Grishinskaya in 1871 according to an approved plan.

In 1937, the church was closed for worship, and the building was handed over to local authorities for economic needs. The crosses were removed from the domes as attributes of a cult building.

Since 1980, the building of the former Trinity church housed a school boiler room. In 2016-2017, over ten months of restoration work carried out by parishioners and a hired construction organization, the old roof was dismantled, materials were purchased, and a new roof was installed. The church had 24 windows replaced and external plastering work done in the altar. Recently, the construction of a firewood storage facility was completed. Plans are in place to continue interior work, plastering and smoothing the walls, installing temporary heating stoves, and dismantling the old floor.

The new dome was made from donations, and including delivery and installation, its cost exceeded 300,000 rubles, with a 50-year warranty. The dome consists of several parts, the lower part, the pedestal, has a diameter of one and a half meters. The onion dome with a diameter of 1.8 meters is made of steel coated with titanium nitride of a golden color. The cross sphere has a diameter of 30 cm, and the cross itself reaches a height of 1.8 meters. Overall, the dome together with the cross has a height of 4.4 meters.
