Holy Trinity Church in Klintsy (lost)

Фото 1
In 1780, the construction of the Ascension Church was completed in Klintsy, and in 1787, the Trinity Church. According to the memories of the local resident P. Khamchenko, these ancient churches, built by Old Believers in the 18th century, occupied a central place in the city panorama. Their tall domes and bell towers rose above the one-story buildings of the city. Each of these churches represented a whole complex of structures: next to the tall summer churches were the lower winter ones. At the cemetery of the Trinity Church, the winter church was dedicated to the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. The sound of the bells rang out across the city. In the mid-19th century, the Ascension and Trinity Churches came under the Synod's jurisdiction and became of the same faith. However, according to the agreement between the Old Believers and the dominant church, services in these churches were conducted using old printed books, adhering to the old rite.

In the 1930s, almost all the churches in the city, except for the Trinity Church, were closed. The wooden Trinity Church burned down in 1972, and in its place, a construction management building and two nine-story apartment buildings were erected on K. Marx Street.
