Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, head of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, entrusted Ivan Belya, a graduate of the Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville with experience in New York, to create the church and organize church life. Work began in mid-2011 to form the future parish. With the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, the necessary liturgical items, icons, books, and other items for the decoration of the church were prepared.

At the same time, the search for a suitable building for the future church began. It was decided to rent a space in Hallandale Beach for these purposes.

Over time, the number of parishioners increased, and the existing church could no longer accommodate all the believers. The need arose to acquire a more spacious church. With the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, fundraising began for the purchase of land for the construction or acquisition of a new church.

On December 12, 2015, the solemn opening and consecration of the new St. Matrona of Moscow Church in Miami took place. On that day, it was visited by about 700 people. Today, the St. Matrona of Moscow Church in Miami is a spiritual center for Florida. Believers come to services not only from Miami but from all over the state and even from other regions, sometimes traveling 4-5 hours, and sometimes even 10-12.

The official website of the church states that "under the arches of the St. Matrona Church, all nationalities of our region unite in common prayer: Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Moldovans, Georgians, Serbs, Romanians, Spaniards, and of course, Americans, who in a chorus praise the All-Merciful God for His inexhaustible generosity sent through the prayers of St. Matronushka."
