The Church of Healer Panteleimon in the village of Dolgaya Polyana was built in the late 20th century on the site of a destroyed 19th-century church during the Soviet era. In the 19th century, there was a church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in this village, erected in 1828, which was destroyed in the 1930s.

The new church, dedicated to the great martyr and healer Panteleimon, was built in record time, just 51 days, with construction completed on July 20, 1994. The rapid construction was made possible by significant financial, organizational, and technical support from one of the largest enterprises in the area, the Stoylensky Mining and Beneficiation Plant.

On August 8, 1994, the church was consecrated by Archbishop Juvenaly of Kursk and Rylsk and Bishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol.
