St. Panteleimon Church in Kursk

Фото 1
The Orthodox parish in honor of the great martyr Panteleimon was established in the KZTZ microdistrict of Kursk on December 24, 2000. The parish did not have its own church, so services and all parish activities took place in the building of the Regional Youth Programs Center, where believers were provided with a rented space. Over time, the number of parishioners and those wishing to attend the service and venerate a relic of the great martyr and healer Panteleimon, brought from Mount Athos from the Russian St. Panteleimon Monastery, increased.

In 2007, the parish began the construction of a stone church. The rector of the church, Archpriest Mikhail Zaitsev, notes that the construction was mainly funded by the parish itself, although there was some small sponsorship assistance, for which they are grateful to the donors.

In 2011, the church was consecrated.
