The St. George the Victorious Church in the village of Ukolovo, Zolotukhinsky District, was built in 1884. This wooden structure has three altars: the central one is dedicated to St. George the Victorious, the right one to the Dormition of the Mother of God, and the left one to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church is designed in the shape of a ship, covered with wooden planks on the outside and plastered on the inside.

The church is located in a picturesque area on the edge of a forest, near the Tuskarya River. Archive records indicate that 11 villages belonged to the church: Rtyshivo, Vorobyovka-1, Kovrashovka, Kosminka, Vorobyovka-2, Nikulino, Novy Sukhorebrik, Chaplygino, Stryy Sukhorebrik, Donskaya, and Ukolovo.

The village of Ukolovo and the George Church are closely connected to the Chaykovsky family. Their estate was nearby, and among the notable guests of the church was the great composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

During the Soviet years, the church was never closed, as confirmed by archival data. In the early 1960s, the bell towers were removed, and since then the church has remained silent.

On both sides of the altar are buried clergymen Protopriest Alexander Gremyachkin and Athanasius Miroshnikov, who served in the church in the post-war years.

Initially, there was no heating in the George Church, but, according to local residents, so many people gathered inside that the church was warmed by their breath and the burning candles even in severe frosts. In the early 1980s, steam heating with solid fuel was installed. A brick guardhouse was built next to the church.

From 2007 to 2009, repairs were carried out both inside and outside the church.
