Georgievskaya Square is located on both sides of Kherson Street. On the right side of the square, there are small wooden stalls, while a significant part remains unoccupied. During Holy Week, booths, carousels, and other entertainment for the people are set up here. On St. George's Day, April 23, a small fair takes place in the square, selling toys and sweets. The southern part of the square is occupied by the Georgievskaya (Smolensk) Church. The St. George Church was built in 1754 on the site of an old wooden church.

According to S. Larionov's description, the Annunciation Church with the chapel of St. George, also known as Yegorya, is located behind the Kura on Kherson Street and was built in 1754 on the site of a dilapidated wooden church.

Land surveyor I.F. Bashilov indicates 1757 as the year of construction, which likely corresponds to the beginning and completion of the building or the year of consecration.

The church was demolished in June 1936. The church chapel, which was used as a transformer booth during Soviet times, lasted until the 1950s.
