Фото 1
The Church of Saint George the Victorious in the village of Galkino was built in the late 18th century. In 1933, the church was closed and looted, and now it lies in ruins.

The church was erected in 1777 with funds from landowner Mikhail Ivanovich Raevsky. This stone building with a bell tower has two chapels: the southern one dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and the northern one in honor of Saint Dimitri of Rostov. The church was surrounded by a stone fence and had three cemeteries.

The parish house housed a parish school. Additionally, in the village of Ilyinskoye, the parish opened a zemstvo school, in the village of Lobanovskoye, a literacy school, and in the village of Novaya, a Sunday school began operating in 1899.

The parish of the George Church included the settlements: Domozhirovo, Gruzdovo, Pochinki, Uvarovo, Likhun, Maryino, Petrovo, Grigorovka, Novaya, Stara Ilyinka, Kanishevo, Filimonovskoye, Galkino, Iznoskovo (Litvinovo), Lobanovo, Novoselki (Alekseyevka). The church was closed in 1933, used for economic needs, and is now in neglect.
