The first church in the village of Dubrovka was built over 300 years ago. Dubrovka, formerly known as Dobrovka, is located in the Brasovsky district of the Bryansk region, 14 km north of the village of Lokot, near the Moscow-Kiev highway. The village is mentioned from the first half of the 17th century as part of the Brasovsky stan of the Komaritskaya volost and was originally a village. From 1683 to 1685, the Church of Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica was built here, which was destroyed in 1943 but restored in 1996 on its original foundation. The modern church in honor of Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica was established in 1996 with the blessing of Archbishop Melchizedek of Bryansk and Sevsk. It is located in the center of the village of Dubrovka on a hill.
